O Scale On30 On3 - Smith's Used Goods Store
Tires, pots, pans, paint and more since 1872, Smith's Used Goods Store has everything you need. Scratch built from hand cut basswood clapboard siding on a solid wood timber frame with hand distressed planks around the porch deck, this fully built used goods store would look great in your small town. With a fully open base (no base), this model is move in ready. Just drop it in place and add your own interior furniture and/or lights.
Several washes of ink and acrylic based stains were applied to create the look of naturally aged stained wood. There's a wrap around deck, front window, entry door, two side windows, Victorian era window shades in all windows, tall smokestack with angled open vent ports, custom color matched period correct advertising signs, highly detailed side door with knob, large wood box full of used parts with a real readable label, stack of used tires, used gas can, used oil can and old wood boards & rags scattered about.
The simulated multilayered tarpaper roof with visible lap lines, nail heads and repair patches was built up from several layers. It took several hours and many separate applications to create the 3D effect of multiple layers of worn, torn, wrinkled tarpaper roofing. Windows have clear dusty window glass plastic installed with no mullions hovering. This is a well built, basswood timber framed structure model with a fully open bottom (no base).
Approximate size is a little under 5 inches deep including the deck by about 3 1/2 inches wide and a little under 5 inches tall to the roof false front (not including the smokestack). You will receive the actual model shown in the photos. Items combined if possible and include professional packing and insurance. Background scenery shown is NOT included.
